Part 1 - Bioregional Planning Systems

Bioregionalism is a philosophy that suggests that political, cultural, and economic systems are more sustainable and just if they are organized around naturally defined areas called bioregions. Bioregional planning is the process of facilitating decision making to carry out land development with the consideration given to the natural environment, social, political, economic and governance factors and provides a holistic framework to achieve sustainable outcomes. A major goal of environmental planning is to create sustainable communities, which aim to conserve and protect undeveloped land, a subject area further explored in chapter 3 – Village 21 Sustainability Communities. The link between UNESCO MAB (Man and Biosphere)

Biosphere Reserves and Climate Neutrality and Sustainability is explored with particular reference to UN Sustainable Development Goals.
